biography
mikael eliasson's work focus on portraits of people and places. his work has been exhibited throughout europe and has recently gained recognition by portfolio catalogue. the series "västkustgårdens kollobarn" is featured in the previous issue (43) of portfolio.
in 2004 he was commissioned to promote and raise the profile of the region of piemonte following their hosting of the winter olympics in 2006 and the work was exhibited in turin.
eliasson co-founded etri, a london based organisation devoted to showing the work of young emerging artists. it was founded in 2004 as a forum to provoke and showcase new ideas. besides showing selected work of its four founding members, etri.org.uk has regular visiting exhibitors.
after completing studies under magnum photographer mark power at university of brighton mikael eliasson now live and work in london.
besides his personal work, mikael eliasson works as a tutor at photofusion in brixton.
